The Panasonic EYC136NQKW 15.6-volt 2.8 Ah Ni-MH combo kit packages the EY3530 5-3/8”metal cutter and the EY6432 ½” drill and driver in one kit to meet nearly every cutting, fastening and drilling need in these types of work.

Using the Panasonic EY0110B charger, the battery reaches full charge in 45 minutes. The kit comes with two 15.6-volt 2.8Ah batteries.

Metal cutter

The EY3530 metal cutter comes with a 5-3/8” 30-tooth C6 tungsten carbide-tipped blade.

The compact tool’s no-load 3,100 rpm motor has the power to cleanly cut through materials. At only 6.7 lbs., including battery, the tool is easy to handle in a variety of cutting positions and the tool’s inline cutting design makes it comfortable to use. A transparent window in the blade guard makes seeing the cutline easy and helps control metal filings. The 1/8” to 1-13/16” cutting depth is easy to adjust to match blade contact with the work piece for fast, accurate cuts. An electric brake stops the blade quickly once the trigger is released; a safety switch lock helps prevent unintended tool start-ups. The 13/16” arbor has a shaft lock button that makes blade changes simple.

Panasonic recommends using the optional EY9PM13D 50-tooth blade to cut thin metal. Replacement blades that are 5-51/16” diameter will also work in the tool. An accessory EY3500B7727 rip fence is available.

Drill and driver

The Panasonic EY6432 Ni-MH 15.6-volt 2.8Ah ½” drill and driver packs high power and control into a small package that’s easy to use for general construction, plumbing, electrical or finish carpentry work.

At 4.5 lbs. including battery and only 8-3/16” long x 9” tall x 2-9/32” wide, the tool produces up to 390 in. lbs. of power for demanding drilling jobs, yet its small size makes it a good tool for work in cramped quarters.

It has a variable speed control and a reversible two-speed transmission that delivers 65-450 rpm on low speed and 200-1,450 rpm in high speed. The 18-stage clutch delivers 9 to 61 in.-lbs. stepped up in 3.0 in. lbs. increments. Maximum torque is delivered in drill-only mode.

The ergonomic design fits well in the user’s hand and helps maintain a neutral wrist position in overhead, horizontal or floor drilling/driving operations. The electric brake stops the bit from turning instantly when the trigger is released for optimal drilling and driving control.
